France, 1900-2000, an outstanding mint collection, in mounts in 4 Lighthouse albums, plus a rather inconsequential 5th album of mint and used. The main collection is nearly complete from the 1920's onwards, missing only a few great rarities (no - there is no Ile de France - sorry!) but chock full of useful mint items. We note (among others), the early Mouchon and Merson series apparently complete to the 20fr, Sowers and Pasteur appear complete including overprints, commemoratives appear quite complete including some key pieces like the three War Orphan sets, Bordeaux and Le Havre Expos, Famous Men semi-postals; also three key souvenir sheets: 1925 Paris, 1927 Strassbourg (with commemorative cancel in margin) and 1937 PEXIP; plus a nearly complete run of airmails including the First Issue and the 50fr Banknote; also there are later booklet panes (entire volume) and of course newer issues filling a couple volumes. Spot check shows extensively never hinged with few if any faults. High catalog value (probably over $10,000 but we have not counted everything!), a great lot to break down for the retail dealer or internet auctioneer - or simply for the collector looking for a great collection already formed. Inspection will definitely prove rewarding.
Estimated Value $2,500 - 3,500
