Apollo Program Beta Cloth Bag, It is impossible to determine if this bag was flown but it is a possibility. The consignor recalls one of the astronauts giving him the bag containing flown items to be prepared for presentation. The serial number printed on the front of the bag reads P/N SEB 12100090-301, S/N 1001. The bag measures 3 x 12 x 1 ¾". The flap is 5" with a snap closure. A very nice example of a beta cloth bag from the Apollo era.

Rare "Apollo CSM Test Team" Lapel Pin., The pin is gold in color with "Apollo CSM" at the top and "Test Team" at the bottom of a globe with "Apollo" across the middle. These were undoubtedly scarce originally as they were probably only given to the Test Team members. They have undoubtedly been lost to collectors down through the years as this is the first we have seen in over 25 years of describing space memorabilia. A great find and a nice addition to any collection. Ex. the Michael Orenstein Estate Collection.

Color Film from Apollo Manned and Unmanned Flights, An unusual lot containing 16mm, color film from the flights of Apollo 4 (460 feet), Apollo 8 (460 feet of raw, possibly unedited footage with no sound track), Apollo 8 "Go for TLI" (600 feet). Apollo 10 (1100 feet), Apollo 11 (1100 feet), Apollo 12 (1100 feet), Apollo 13 (1100 feet) and Apollo 15 (1100 feet). All but the Apollo 8 raw footage have been edited with sound and are ex the NASA Public Relations Office. A nice lot, all in metal film canisters. We haven't screened any of the footage, so the buyer will have the opportunity for being the first in about 50 years to have this privilage. An unusual opportunity. Ex The Ludy Benjamin collection.

Hasselblad -- Balance of Consignment, Four Hasselblad camera accessories 2 with Velcro patches indicating that they were used by NASA in training or likely flown. 1) Silver film magazine P/N SEF 33101018-301, S/N 1026. 2 Velcro strips on the body and one on the slide. A yellow 1992 sticker and blue 1995 sticker also affixed. (This magazine shows some corrosive discoloration / residue on the camera mount side and on the slide and needs cleaning / restoration.) 2) Silver film magazine pained black PN SEF 33101018-301, S/N 1038. 2 Velcro strips on the body, no slide. Unsure why this magazine was painted and paint is scrapped off in some places. 3) 2000F black Hasselblad film magazine, used and missing compartment cover. 4) 2000F silver Hasselblad film magazine casing. Apollo Program, c1970s, Hasselblad 500EL/M Camera (6.5x3.5x3.5") This sleek, black camera is the forerunner of the same camera used, in modified condition, during the NASA era. This is a medium format, film SLR camera system. The "EL stands for "electric" and the "M" for "Modified". This camera has been also been modified to run powered by 9 volt batteries rather than the original, obsolete NiCad batteries. This is a composite camera consisting of the camera body (No. RH1323968), film back (UI310507), and a Carl Zeiss Planar 1:2.8, f=80mm lens (No. No. 6388896). Included are a plastic "Front Lens Cap" (No.50385) and a Hasselblad "Rear Protective Cover" (No. 51063). Used, with minor defects. Guaranteed functional. A great addition to any camera collection.

Apollo 1 Flammability Test Teflon Lacing and Kapton Coated Wire – Mounted on a Descriptive COA, Following the Apollo 1 fire on 1/27/67 a series of flammability tests were conducted in the CM Boilerplate chamber. The Teflon Lacing and Kapton coated wire were 2 of the fire-resistant materials tested and then incorporated it the Apollo CM and LM spacecraft. These samples were from the original batch, some of which was used for testing. Both of 2 wire samples are 6" long and are affixed to the COA by the lacing.

12 NASA Area Permit Badges – Apollo 6 through Apollo 17 (+4 stick-on decals), A complete set of manned Apollo mission permit badges. Each is incased in plastic with the missions clearly noted. A ringlet at the top allows for the wearer to attach it to a neck strap. The reverse reads "Property of the U.S. Government, issued for official use…" Also included are 4 stick-on decals which are seldom available. One for Apollo / Soyuz is triangular with 39-B in the center. Three others read "MISSION SUPPORT" – 1 each triangular, square and circular. How often can you acquire a complete set of Apollo badges all in very nice condition?

The Gemini 12 (the final Gemini mission) badge is similar to the Skylab badges but with a clip attached. 4 Shuttle "SUPPORT" passes are for STS 4 through 7 and each is in different color / made of paper. (The STS-4 pass is a bit wrinkled.) A nice selection.

Apollo 8 Flown U.S. and Illinois State Flags, Both flags were carried aboard the Apollo 8 Command Module (CM-103) and are mounted on parchment type paper (11 x 14"). The autographs of the crew, Frank Borman, James Lovell and Bill Anders are in the lower left quadrant and each are clear and bold (no fading). The page is inscribed "Carried on Board Apollo 8 First Lunar Flight 21 – 27 December, 1968." The American flag measures 4 1/8 x 5 7/8" and the state flag is a fraction of an inch smaller. The consignor, a NASA retiree was in part responsible for creating such displays when the crews returned to Earth. This display was assembled and autographed in 1969. Consignor's handwritten and signed COA is included.

Apollo 10 Launch Day Cover with Hand Drawn Pictures of Charlie Brown and Snoopy drawn by Charles Schultz (and autographed by Schultz), This Apollo 10 launch day cover has an official NASA-KSC cachet and is postmarked "Kennedy Space Center, FL May 18 1969". An Apollo 8 six cent stamp is affixed. Charles Schultz not only signed the cover but drew the pictures of Charlie Brown and Snoopy. Both of these characters became semi-official mascots for the mission because their names were used as the call signs for the Command Module and Lunar Module. The consignor was president of the KSC Philatelic Society. A very striking cover.

Apollo 10 crew signed photo., A beautiful B&W photo of the Apollo 10 Command Module photographed, under 3 fully deployed parachutes, as it nears splash down in the Pacific Ocean. The photo is autographed by John Young and Gene Cernan and inscribed "To Dick With Best Regards, Apollo 10 Crew". Framed in silver with a black matt the piece measures 12 x 16½". Neil Armstrong Autograph, A clean sharp Armstrong autograph on a Belgium postage souvenir sheet. The postage stamp shows the Apollo 11 crew beneath an image of the moon. The date of their landing and duration of the EVA are noted. Armstrong has signed in the lower left. This autograph was obtained in the early 1970s by an employee who worked at NASA – Kennedy Space Center and was president of the KSC Philatelic Society.

Neil Armstrong Autograph - Signed "Neil", A fun and interesting letter from "Neil" to a former coworker at NASA. Neil writes, "I was delighted to hear from you and learn that you are a grandmother, still working and well. I am finally retired (from the EDO Corporation) in May. They kicked me out for advanced senility". He goes on to say" I have given up signing stuff. Even old friends from NASA were selling autographs at auctions and on the Web. So just gave up. Nevertheless, enclosed is something for Ron…" So, in this rare case Neil did autograph an item for a friend and signed this letter "Neil".

Buzz Aldrin Autograph and flown "Kapton" heat shield., A beautiful presentation piece combining 3 items related to Apollo 11, all double matted. An 8 x 10" portrait of Buzz Aldrin on the Lunar surface together with Aldrin’s autograph on a cancelled check and a piece of the Command Module Kapton foil. The Kapton polymide tape was part of the spacecraft’s thermal protection subsystem and as noted "was flown to the moon". This piece was removed from Command Module, Columbia after splashdown and was part of the personal collection of Buzz Aldrin. Overall size 13½ x 19". This presentation piece was one of the first that Michael Orenstein designed working directly with Aldrin. Ex. the Michael Orenstein Estate Collection.

Apollo 11 Lunar Surface Flown flag, This flag measures 7 ½ x 12" and was flown to the Lunar Surface. The accompanying signed COA reads, "This American Flag (7 ½" x 12") was flown on Apollo 11 to the Lunar Surface aboard Lunar Module #5, "Eagle". This flag was given to me by the crew upon their return, and has been in my possession ever since." The consignor worked for NASA in procurement ordering designated items to be flown. He also worked with the crews upon their return and was often given mementos including this flag. There are 2 small holes in the upper left corner, in the blue field. This occurred while in storage for the past 40+ years.
