Ali, Muhammad (1942 -) Handwritten, unsigned statement by Ali on his Islamic faith. Quoted as written: "We should seize and grab every opportunity to do as much good as possible, before death over take us. When you are a child you play with children, when you are a youth you are made carless by worldly pastimes, when you are old, you have become weak, so when will you do your work for ALLAH (God) Exalted be He, meaning that you will not be able to serve, allah (God) after your death, only during your life are you able to be deligent in making preparation for the time when HAZRAT MEEKAH-EEL the angle of Death comes to you, a true believes should always be mindful of him, for we know not when he will approach us." Page 4 of a manuscript. Matted with an image of Ali in boxing stance, and a plaque and framed to an overall size of 22¾ x 18½ in. This manuscript was obtained from Ali's ex-wife, Veronica Porsche Ali, in the 1980s.

Ali, Muhammad, Request for an autograph which Ali obliged by writing in the lower left corner of the letter, "Thank you Jim / Muhammad Ali / 9-13-87." With an envelope from Muhammad Ali Farms, postmarked 13 Sep 1987 and addressed to Jim Stinson. Also in this lot: a color 8 x 10 in. photo of Ali clowning around with a sparring partner, signed "Muhammad Ali" across his left boxing glove; a color 8 x 10 in. photo showing Ali signing a poster; and three vintage photos from the March 9, 1971 Ali-Frasier "Fight of the Century" at Madison Square Garden. Frasier won a unanimous decision after 15 rounds, retaining the heavy-weight title and dealing Ali his first professional loss.
