  1864, 5¢ Fractional Currency Narrow Margin Specimen Pair. Third Issue, red reverse. Face Specimen PCGS Choice About New. Fr-1236. . KL-3254. Similarly graded notes, with the Face example having been assigned the Apparent grade due to a missing upper right corner tip. A "C" from the watermark is visible on that piece. The Back received an Apparent grade due to discoloration; stained; minor edge damage; and minor mounting from the Shield on back. Lot of 2 notes.

  1864, 10¢ Fractional Currency Narrow Margin Specimens. Third Issue, red and green reverses with autographed signatures o. Fr-1253. . KL-3260. Three notes in comparable grades are contained in this lot. The bronzing remains reflective and attractive on all three pieces. Minor ink erosion in the signature resulted in the Apparent grade for the Face Specimen. The Apparent grade was assigned to the red back due to paper toned and edge damage. Paper toned and a foreign substance on the face were the reasons for the Apparent grade of the green back example. Lot of 3 notes.

1864, 10¢ Fractional Currency. Third Issue, green reverse. PCGS Very Choice New 64. Fr-1255. . KL-3262. The bronzing remains bright on both sides of this example with a green reverse. The bottom margin is a bit tight, but the note displays nice margins overall and the paper is bright.

1869, 25¢ Fractional Currency. Fourth Issue, large red seal, paper with violet silk fibers. PCGS Choice About New 58 App. Fr-1303. . KL-3340. The Treasury seal retains a dark red color, adding to the attractiveness of this piece. A small rust stain above Washington's portrait was listed as the reason for the Apparent grade.

1874, 25¢ Fractional Currency. Fifth Issue, with short, thick key in Treasury seal. PCGS Choice About New 55PPQ. Fr-1309. . KL-3352. Nicely margined overall, this very lightly handled note earned the Premium Paper Quality designation for full originality. The Treasury seal retains good color. The short, thick key variety is one of two varieties for this design.

The notes range in condition from Very Good to About Uncirculated. Many of the notes exhibit problems, including stains and tears. Lot of 11 notes.

  Mixed Lot of Fractional Currency Third Issue Specimen Notes, Three Examples. Fr. 1236-SP 5¢ Third Issue Narrow Margin Face; Fr. 1236-SP 5¢ Third Issue Narrow Margin Back; Fr. 1330aSP 50¢ Third Issue Wide Margin Back. Both of the 5 cent examples display damage at the margins, with the Clark displaying a small area of paper pull on the back. The five cent back also exhibits an area of light staining. Those two notes are AU. The bronzing is no longer bright on the fifty center Specimen. That example is Fine with areas of light staining. Lot of 3 notes.
