Apollo 11 Insurance Cover Autographed by Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin. Prior to launch, the 3 crew members autographed what are known as "insurance" covers. These were created by the NASA Manned Spacecraft Center Stamp Club and signed while the crew was in pre-launch quarantine. Some were postmarked at the Cape on July 16, 1969, the day of launch, the rest were postmarked in Houston on July 20th, the day of landing. The covers were specifically produced to be left behind with their families as a form of insurance that could be sold should they fail to return. This cover, post marked in Houston is one that belonged to Buzz Aldrin. A very nice addition to any collection.

Buzz Lightyear - Autographed twice by Buzz Aldrin. This 11" tall toy has been beautifully autographed by Aldrin on Lightyear's chest in red and a second time in blue maker on the transparent helmet. Both autographs are striking. When Toy Story debuted in 1995 Pixar initially denied that the Buzz Lightyear character was named after the real Buzz Aldrin. In time they admitted Lightyear was the namesake of Aldrin and apparently Aldrin enjoyed the "honor." A great piece of movie and space history.

These chaps appear to have all the requisite bells and whistles including zippers and fringe on each leg and even a pocket on left leg. We probably wouldn't have run these chaps in the sale, but having belonged to Deke would seem to indicate he wore them extensively on his hunting/fishing trips and may have even worn them on his visit to LBJ's ranch when he was presented with a "Stetson" hat (see elsewhere in this sale).
