Portugal SCWPM# 160a, 28.4.1953 50 Escudos. PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ. This Superb Gem has near-perfect margins, terrific colors, and eye appeal that would be difficult to top. It is the finest example of this issue graded top date by either PCGS Currency or PMG. It is the first of two consecutive examples from this collection, and the finer of the two by just a hair.

It is actually the first note in this consecutive pair in numerical sequence, but a very minor handling mark or a slight difference in centering is all that kept the experts at PCGS Currency from assigning the same grade.
