Lot 5583
Greece SCWPM# 179b, ND (1947) 20,000 Drachmai. PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ. As mentioned in an earlier description, many of the high grade notes in this sale were high denomination issues that were obtained at the time of issue and kept in pristine condition. This note is a perfect example of why this collection is so special in this regard, as this issue is very scarce in any uncirculated grades. It is the first of two consecutive, and the finer by two numerical grades. These two pieces are by far the finest of this Pick number graded by PCGS Currency, and the next closest from either major service is an AU58 graded by PMG. Splendid colors, ideal centering, and outstanding visual appeal combine with the high technical grade to make this note nearly impossible to duplicate.
Estimated Value $700 - 1,000.
