Ball, Lucille. Typed Letter Signed ("Lucy"). One page, quarto, June 2,1988. On Ball's personal stationery. In blue ink. To Senior Vice President of film production at Columbia Pictures. Accompanied by two drafts of the synopsis for a television movie based on the life of Bobby Darin, Also included is a photocopy of the original letter to which Lucy has responded. With two horizontal folds and three penned notations. Signature is bold, and the piece is in very good condition. Upon reading the summary of a television special on Bobby Darin, Lucy writes, "Thank you for the Bobby Darin book -- I love reading it. And, thanks again for letting me see the tape of the performance. I appreciate your thoughtfulness very much." Finally, she adds a quick comment on her health: "I'm also feeling fine. Thank you for your kind concern."

"Over the Rainbow" Piano Score Signed by Garland, Arlen, and Harburg. Piano score for the iconic song, ranked as the greatest movie song of all time, signed on the cover by Judy Garland, who sang the song in her role as Dorothy Gale in the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz, by Harold Arlen, who wrote the lyrics, and by E.Y. Harburg, who wrote the music. "Over the Rainbow" became Miss Garland's signature song. She sang it throughout her life, until her death in 1969. The score is in fine condition, with very minor toning.

Two pages of a legal document, each page signed by Steven Spielberg as an officer for EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL PRODUCTIONS, INC., August 24, 1981, at Los Angeles, California. One page, numbered "4", is headed "VERIFICATION"; Spielberg certifies that he has read "the foregoing Petition [not present] for Order Approving Contract of Minor to Render Acting Services in Accordance with California Civil Code Section 36 (a) (2) and know its contents…" The other page, numbered "3" is headed "WHEREFORE, Petitioner prays:" asks that the Court fix a time and place for hearing of the Petition and that "the Contract attached hereto [not present] as Exhibit '1' be approved and confirmed…." is signed by Spielberg and his lawyer, Tom R. Camp, an attorney for EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL PRODUCTIONS, INC. Two sets of file holes at the top of each page; otherwise fine.

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, was shot from September to December 1981. It told the story of Elliott, a ten-year-old boy, played by Henry Thomas, who befriended a stranded extraterrestrial. Drew Barrymore played Elliott's adorable five-year-old sister Gertie. The film was released in 1982 and held the record for highest-grossing film for ten years.

A legal document signed once each by McQueen, Poitier, Streisand, Newman, and Hoffman; each one signed on a separate page. In part: "Whereas all of the parties hereto, with the exception of Hoffman, are parties to a Revised Stockholders' Agreement, dated June 21, 1971….Whereas the Company, in connection with an agreement with Hofofman with respect to the production and delivery of motion pictures, has granted to Hoffman Warrants…to purchase a maximum of 50,000 shares of the Capital Stock, par value $.10 per share (the 'Capital Stock'), of the Company…." Issues such as voting of shares, restrictions on transfer of shares, and other issues are addressed. Fifteen of the pages are signature pages, one for each of the individuals or corporations named in the document. Staples in upper left corner and two file holes at top center.

Wayne, John. John Wayne's personal copy of the Final Script for "The High and the Mighty" signed with Wayne's name and address on the second title page: "Duke Wayne / 2686 Bayshore Dr. / Newport Beach." The script is dated July 15, 1953 and has 133 pages. Light wear to the cover and the pages are lightly toned throughout; there is one smear in the address ("Dr."). The movie was co-produced by Wayne and Robert Fellows. Ernest K. Gann wrote the story and screenplay and William A. Wellman directed. Wayne insisted that the movie be filmed in CinemaScope. Wayne starred as first officer on a flight from California to Hawaii which developed engine problems midway. Robert Stack (as the captain) and Claire Trevor and Jan Sterling co-starred.

The film premiered at Grauman's Egyptian Theatre on May 27, 1954 and was commercially released on July 3, 1954. It grossed $8.5 million. Dimitri Tiomkin won an Academy Award for Best Original Music Score and Claire Trevor and Jan Sterling were nominated for Best Supporting Actress (Jan Sterling received the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress). The film also received nominations for Best Director, Best Film Editing, and Best Music, Original Song. Wayne was ahead of his time by starring in and producing a movie, long before Clint Eastwood and other stars did so. "The High and the Mighty" also served as a precursor to airborne disaster such as "Airport."
