Addressed to Bogart at 2707 Benedict Canyon, Beverly Hills, California, setting out the terms by which Aurelio Salazar proposes to buy Bogart's 1947 Ford half-ton truck. Bogart signs in full at lower left that he agrees to the terms.

Dinah Shore and LeRoy Neiman, First Edition of Neiman's 1974 book, Art & Lifestyle Inscribed and Signed to actress Dinah Shore on the half title page, "To Dinah, You are one of a kind / Love LeRoy Neiman / L.A. '74". Dinah Shore wrote in the upper-left corner of the facing page, "Hey everybody--This is mine! Love Dinah." With dust jacket. The book has a selection of Neiman's colorful art work. Very minor toning, otherwise fine.

Grant, Cary, Typed Letter Signed "Cary Grant" in black ink, on letterhead engraved "Cary Grant, 242 North Canon Drive / Beverly Hills / California / Crestview 5-6553," 11 x 8½ inches, one page, November 20, 1954. To Tom, enclosing a check for $48.00 (not present) for work done at Grant's place in Palm Springs. In part, "…this note gives me an opportunity to tell you of Mrs. Grant's and my respect and appreciation for your efficient, excellent and and conscientious work. We thank you very much, Tom." Fine condition.

Hepburn, Katharine (1907-2003) American actress and four-time Academy Award winner. A fine archive of 14 Typed Letters Signed from 1994-1996, each one page, 8½ x 5½ inches, and each on her personal letterhead. Hepburn writes brief responses to fan mail, with some truly snappy commentary that makes one wonder what on earth the fan asked of her! Here are a few quips from the letters:

"…She was a bitch to work with and only did once. I told the cast to go home if she came back…I do not sign photos. I do not like to see myself age…Yes - I miss my Spence - He was the best…Be yourself - do not listen to that shit…Jimmy Stewart was one of my favorite actors as well. His wife was a doll…No I did not see that film. Save your money and work your tail off…Spencer and I enjoyed attending shows on Broadway…." Each boldly signed in black ink and in fine condition.

McQueen, Steve, Original Steve McQueen signature on a five-page Agreement between The First Artists Production Company, Ltd., and Solar Productions, Inc. ("Purchaser") regarding a pictures to be made from the novel, "I, Tom Horn." Paper is 11 x 8½". File holes punched at top and staple mark at upper left. Representatives from Warner Bros. Inc. and First Artists also signed the Agreement. McQueen's huge signature is signed in black marker.

First Artists was a production company set up in 1969 by Sidney Poitier, Paul Newman, and Barbra Streisand to exercise more control over their projects. They were joined in 1972 by Steve McQueen and by Dustin Hoffman in 1976. Solar Productions, Inc. was McQueen's company. The movie ("Tom Horn") costarred Linda Evans and Richard Farnsworth and was released March 28, 1980. McQueen would succumb to cancer on November 7, 1980.

McQueen, Steve, A seven-page legal document with an original signature by Steve McQueen on February 28, 1977 as a principal in First Artists, a production company set up in 1969 by Sidney Poitier, Paul Newman, and Barbra Streisand to exercise more control over their projects. They were joined in 1972 by Steve McQueen and by Dustin Hoffman in 1976. Although the picture isn't named, another contract dated February 28, 1977 (see previous lot) regards the movie "Tom Horn." A three-page section titled "Inducement and Adherence" specifically addresses McQueen's responsibilities in order to induce First Artists, as the producer, and Warner Bros. Inc. as the distributor, to execute the agreement with McQueen's production company, Solar Productions, Inc. Paper is 11 x 8½". File holes punched at top and staple mark at upper left. McQueen's signature on the last page of the contract is signed in black marker and is huge. The movie "Tom Horn" was released March 28, 1980 and McQueen would succumb to cancer on November 7, 1980.

Rainer, Luise (1910 -) German-born actress who won back-to-back Academy Awards for The Great ZiegfeldThe Good Earth (1937). Photograph Signed in purple marker, 14 x 11 inches. Showing the actress in the role of Joan of Arc. A note on the back says that the photo was signed 10/12/83. Numerous edge nicks and a crease at lower left corner, all easily matted out. Still a lovely photo.

Wayne, John, Large signature on an invitation to meet John Wayne at John Wanamakers Department Store on July 7, 1976. The occasion was to celebrate John Wayne's 50 years in films and the opening of "The Shootist." The director of public relations for Wanamakers announces that he will interview Wayne at noon and present him with a celebration birthday cake. One empty place would be reserved at each table so that Mr. Wayne could visit all of the tables. Wayne signed this invitation at the behest of one of the guests. The invitation was part of a larger presention; adhesive tape across top affixes it to another page and cardboard with images of Wayne, easily detached from the invitation with the signature. Print on the invitation is somewhat faded but Wayne's signature in black marker is quite bold.
