Aviation, 1911//1977, "Firsts in Flight" Flown Fragments (each .25x.3") mounted in a multicolor lucite desk display (4x3x1.5"). The display includes pieces from the Wright Bros 1911 "Model B Flyer", Curtis "NC-4 Flying Boat" 1919, Douglas World Cruiser "Chicago"1924, HK-1 "Spruce Goose"1947, Apollo 11 Command Module "Columbia" 1969, and the Space Shuttle "Enterprise"1977. Consignor's photocopy COA included. An attractive lot.

Aviation, "The End of the Red Barron" by R. Carlin (framed to 25x23.5") This limited edition print is (only 1000 issued) signed by Capt. I. C. LeBoutillier and dedicated: "To Deke Slayton with kindest regards by Bob Carlin (the artist). Colin LeBoutillier was born in New Jersey in 1895. He crossed into Canada in 1916 and joined the Royal Naval Air Service. In 1918, Capt. LeBoutillier was in command of "B" flight of the 209th squadron in the Somme river valley. There he was witness to the attack by Captain Roy Brown in Camel B7270 and the subsequent crash of Manfred von Richthofen in his red Fokker Dr1425/17. Immediately after the crash, "Boots" flew over the crashed Triplane of von Richthofen. That is the scene depicted in the print. LeBoutillier survived the war with 10 aerial victories to his credit. He entered Barnstorming and piloted aircraft in no less than 18 movies such as "Hell's Angels and "Wings". As a flight instructor he gave Amelia Earhart her first instruction in a twin-engined aircraft and acted as a test pilot for Howard Hughes. He passed away in Las Vegas, NV in 1983. This print is the same as pictured on the www.kaiserbunker.com web site although that one is dedicated to someone else. Unusual and attractive.

Aviation, "The Chase of the Red Barron" by R. Carlin (framed to 25x23.5") This limited edition print (only 1000 issued) IS signed by Capt. O. C. LeBoutillier and dedicated: "To Deke Slayton with best wishes by Bob Carlin" (the artist).

A similar "Red Baron" related Aviation print showing the chase leading up to the eventual crash landing of the Red Baron near the Somme River in France on Sunday April 21, 1918. Unusual and attractive.

Aviation, "Charles Lindbergh" Bust by Michael Garrnan, 1973 (7.5x4.5x6") This attractive piece of memorabilia was made by noted Colorado Springs, CO. sculptor, Michael Garman. The piece is dated 1973 on the reverse. What makes this piece especially interesting is that it appears to be a white glazed, hollow clay proof. The issued piece was made of bronze. Minor edge faults, but this piece was prominently displayed by the consignor.

Aviation, "P-51D Mustang" Model Signed by pilot Chuck Yeager (11x12") This "silver/blue" scale model has the pilot's signature in black on the right wing. The model comes in its original box with a triangular wooden stand with metal descriptive plaque. This pilot and plane (Glamorous Glenn III) are famous for shooting town 13 enemy aircraft including five ME-109s on a single day and one of Germany's first jet fighters. In later life, he would go on to become a test pilot and to be the first man to break the sound barrier. New condition and a great addition to any collection.

The cover is signed by X-15 pilots Scott Crossfield, Robert White, Pete Knight, Joseph Kittinger (holder of the parachute freefall and altitude records) and an Air Force General. An attractive cover.

Aviation, "F-111A USAF" Tactical Fighter Model (12x5") This General Dynamics variable-wing tactical fighter model is mounted on its original triangular base with metallic nameplate. The plane first flew in 1964 and was retired in 1996. It's nickname was "The Aardvark". Some faults, but an attractive addition to any collection. This model was the property of the President of Texas Bridge and Forge (Co.) that forged the titanium rotation pin used on the planes.

Aviation, c1960, "Deke Slayton" Naval Aviator Wings (3", framed to 8.5x6.5") These wings were found in his estate by his family. Deke was a member of the Army Air Force from 1942 till being selected as an astronaut by NASA in 1969. We're not exactly sure how these relate to him career, but they were obviously important to him to have saved them for many years. Attractive.
