Lot 1555
1912. NGC graded MS-65. Nice and frosty and mostly untoned. A flashy example, this is a coin that just should not exist, yet here it is: a strictly graded Gem 1912 Indian half eagle, a coin that is conditionally challenging not only as a date but as Type within entire series. Excluding the ubiquitous 1909-D issue, very few of the other dates in this set have achieved an MS65 grade at NGC. Strike is very bold. Excellent luster with frosty texture. Pop 57; 2 finer in 66 (PCGS # 8523) .
Estimated Value $9,000 - 9,500.
