Lot Photo Description Realized
Lot 2051
1882, $5 National Bank Note. Custer NB, Broken Bow, NE. PCGS Currency Apparent Fine 15. . Fr-537. This is a very scarce 1882 Date Back from a bank that evokes the Wild West with its name and location. The bank liquidated in 1916, and less than 10 examples of all design types are enumerated in the census. Some small edge splits and minor paper damage are present, hence the Apparent grade from PCGS Currency, but the overall appearance is not at all unattractive.
Estimated Value $1,500 - 2,000.

Lot 2054
1902, $5 National Bank Note. First NB in Grass Valley, CA. PCGS Currency Apparent Fine 12. . Fr-609. . KL-1166. Despite a small edge tear at the bottom right which caused the Apparent grade from PCGS Currency, the eye appeal is solid for the grade. Just seven large size notes are reported from this Nevada County bank.
Estimated Value $1,500 - 2,000.

Lot 2055
1902, $10 National Bank Note. First NB, Mobile, AL. PCGS Currency Apparent Fine 15. . Fr-625. . KL-1229. A decent large size example from this Southern city, although PCGS Currency has noted some edge tears which caused the Apparent grade. Interestingly, this was one of the few banks in the country that issued $500 Nationals, and one of only two such banks in the South (the other being the New Orleans National Banking Association).
Estimated Value $100 - 125.
