1816 N-2 R1. MS-60. Lustrous light chocolate and olive brown with lighter golden brown showing in the fields and protected areas. No spots or stains, just a few minor nicks, including one over star 1 and another over the nostril. M-LDS with rim cud breaks from star 8 to star 11 plus a smaller one between stars 11 & 12. The reverse is rotated 45 degrees CW. Most likely from the famous Randall Hoard of mint state cents.

Most likely from the Randall Hoard of mint state cents, but this one saw limited circulation.

No defects, just a tough of light wear on the highest points of the design. Great eye appeal. A tiny nick on the front edge of the neck is a good identifying mark. E-MDS, before the rim cud break over AM. The reverse is slightly misaligned to K-2. A very nice example of this popular "Redbook" variety. Our grade is AU50.

There is a small spot of dark toning resting on top of the hairbun and another under the C in CENT. Faint traces of an old fingerprint show in the field to the left and above the portrait. EDS, before any die rust on either side. The repunching on the date is clear. Our grade is AU58.

The die line the connects the feet of the A & T in STATES is clear. Most likely from the famous Randall Hoard of mint state cents discovered shortly following the end of the US Civil War. Our grade is MS60.

The fields are satiny and offer excellent eye appeal. The only defects are some light contact marks between the nose and star 4. M-LDS. The repunching inside the 0 is gone but the undertype 1 inside the 2 is strong. Removed from an NGC slab graded AU55 (NGC label included, and it shows the attribution and Ron Adam provenance).

1820 N-13 R1. PCGS graded MS-63 Brown. Large Date. Lustrous bluish steel with a couple swipes of lighter brown toning and traces of faded mint color bleeding through on both sides. The surfaces are covered with satiny mint frost that extends even to the highest points of the design. The only marks are a small scuff in the field off the tip of the nose and a tick on the end of the wreath stem. Sharply struck MDS, the usual Randall Hoard die state for this variety, with a die crack passing through the date and all the stars. Our grade is MS62.

The fields are smooth and slightly reflective thanks to a fresh die lapping.
