Original Series, $1 National Bank Note. The First NB, Sunbury, PA. PCGS Fine 12. . Fr-380. . KL-1086. Large size notes from this bank are relatively common, but not so from the First Charter designs. In fact, this note that is new to the census is the first First Charter note from here reported. While moderately circulated, it is basically free of any problems and has excellent pen signatures of S.J. Packer and J.B. Packer. A terrific note for the Pennsylvania specialist, and an opportunity for a First Charter note on this bank that may not be available for many more years.

This lovely Gem appears fully original through the holder and looks to this cataloger like it would receive a high grade at any of the grading services. It is well centered, broadly margined, and retains its original embossing throughout.

1902, $10 National Bank Note. FNB and Trust Co. of Amityville, New York. . Fr-626. . KL-1230. Very Rare, according to Track and Price only 3 notes from this bank are known: Date Back, $10, $20. Doubly famous due to the 1979 classic film The Amityville Horror based on a true story that took place in 1974. The only auction record of this issue is a similar note sold by CAA in 1998 for $3980. Fine or better.
