Canada, "Kasimir Bileski" Special Lot. A fascinating group of booklets, paper, printing and other "Special" varieties as promoted by one of the formost stamp promotors of the 20th Century. Included are a group of his promotional "letters" extolling his latest "find". Even disregarding his "special" prices, this material is sure to give a Canadian specialist hours of fun. NH. Canada, 1983, "32c Nickel" Commemorative Overprint SHIFT. . Scott 996 var. . Unitrade 996ii C$500. This striking upward shift of the "Nickel" overprint is a rare example of a color shift being as collectible as an error. Only 50 stamps (one sheet) exist. A normal stamp is included as a comparison. NH. A Bileski "note" about this shift is included. Extremely Fine.

Most of the latter issues are mint whereas the 18th century issues are used (mostly mixed condition).   United States, 1851//1976, United States Collection. In a Harris "Liberty" album. An interesting collection in that it contains various higher value classics including a Rhode Island Provisional, 1861, 10c-90c (90c = pen cancel), 1870, 1973 and 1879 90c carmine issues, 1887, 90c violet, etc. We also note an unusually nice appearing 15c 1969 with OG among others. Mostly used prior to the 1920s and obviously in mixed condition, but there is undoubtedly more value here than one would expect. Viewing is strongly urged (don't let our low estimate deter you as you will probably have to fight to get this lot.).

We note unopened year sets of PRC (about 10 years worth) in VF, NH condition, a nice mint Ireland collection in a stockbook, a QE II "Birthday" collection of mint sets and SS in a stockbook (ex. Bileski) Liberian proofs and specimens (+ the 1975 Liberia specialized catalog by Lothar von Saleski), assorted Canadian "local" commercial mail to the US used with local stamps, etc. There is a three volume Harris "Standard" worldwide collection, etc. Usual mixed condition, but a potential treasure trove for the strong hearted.
