Wright, Orville (1871-1948) With his brother, Wilbur, made the first powered airplane flights (1903). Typed Letter Signed on personal letterhead, 1 page, 10½ x 7¼ in., Dayton, Ohio, March 24, 1928. To publisher Gordon Dorrance in Philadelphia declining to comment on [Clarence D.] Chamberlin's "Record Flights." "I would not want to make any comment without first reading the book, and I am so far behind in my reading now that I would be unable to read it for months to come." Very Fine.

Wright, Wilbur (1867-1912) With his brother, Orville, made the first powered airplane flights (1903). Autograph Letter Signed on "Wright Brothers" letterhead, with both brothers names at upper left, 1 page, Dayton, Ohio, n.d. to Mr. G. F. Sexton in Chicago, in full: "Your project is totally impossible so far as our part is concerned for the reason that every machine we have is tied up on contracts made a long time ago. We have even been compelled to send away our training machine from our Dayton grounds. We were not able to put a machine into the race on this account." Fine. Wilbur Wright letters are rare because of his early death from typhoid fever. This one is especially rare because of its excellent aviation content.
