Roman Bronze Inscription Tablet. 1st Century A.D. Bronze document with inset inscription, the edges thickend, a boss on each of the handles. Tablet regards the purchase and subsequent gift of farmland to the priests of Zeus. Greek inscription:

"Under the rule of Sopyros (the son of Aristoss) for the year of Rhodon, bought from Zenon (the son) of Rhoizos a field through ______ and through, the public street for the price of 210 denarii which price the seller has declared to have received from the buyer. The ____ was gifted by the buyer to the Priests of Zeus." Ends in a prayer "When from sacrifice the written Word".

Choice condition. Size: 12½" x 6".

Roman Bronze Figure of Apollo. Circa 2nd Century A.D. Bronze solid cast. Apollo with empty quiver hanging downwards. Two knots of hair on his head with shoulder length hair knoted at nape of neck. Fine glossy brown patina. We note an ancient restoration, by over-casting, to the right foot and lower left arm, still quite elegant. Height 4". On a custom Lucite block.

Of tapering cylindrical form set on three delicate shoe-shaped feet, with out-turned rim, two loops on the rim take the arched handle, the terminals hooked through the loops, the body decorated with three bands of incised lines.
