Egyptian light green glaze amulet of a Female Dancer. Circa 18th Dynasty to Late Dynastic Period. Fine pale green faience amulet of a female dancer bending backwards with hair falling; suspension hole in center. Very Rare. Well intact. Height: 2¼".

Babacar Khane and his wife, the egyptologist Genevieve Lebaud-Khane, graduate of the University of Montpellier, found in several Egyptian temples, graves and museums many representations of classical lhatha-yoga postures, very well-known and practised in India, for example: several women practising Urdhva-Ddhanurasana and Chakrasana (Red Chapel build by Hatshepsut in Karnak temple complex; reliefs depicting the Opet Festival, Luxor Temple, reigns of Kings Tutankhamun and Ay, New-Kingdom).

Egyptian green glaze statuette of Bes fragment. Third Intermediate Period, circa 1069-656 B.C. Light green glaze faience figure of Bes with added details in black glaze, his right hand held to his mouth, the tongue protruding with thick beard and bulbous bags under his eyes. This piece has headdress, lower body and one arm missing. Some breaks to the glaze and mounted on a custom Lucite stand. Quite unusual. Height: 2¾".

Egyptian Wooden Sarcophagus Fragment. Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, 664-30 B.C. Brightly painted on two sides. Side A: Woman facing left with arms raised in adoration behind a deity with a sceptor, a lotus flower before and two bearded mummiform deities facing right, the wig of a third partially preserved to the right. Side B: Two panels each with a Hathor cow reclining on the top of a shrine, each with a solar disk and plumes above horns, each with columns of heieroglyphs naming two of the Seven Hathors: 'Sister (?) of the god' (to the left: 'She whose name flourishes by means of her skill'. Height: 17¼".

Side A: Woman on bent knee with arms raised in adoration before a seated Osiris and a bearded deity; all, above a shrine. To right three columns of text: 'me (?). Your (plural) names.my bones are in him, flesh (?).my., may you (plural) rescue/carry off from.' Side B: A falcon upon a shrine, a standing male figure to the left and a mummiform figure to the right, with three lines of text to the right: "Open (in peace?) Breathing (?) in the field of the underworld (?). Height: 14¾".

In typical pose seated on a throne, suckling the infant Horus on her lap, her left hand supporting his head, her right clutched to her breast, wearing a full length tunic, tripartite wig with frontal bronze uraeus and a collar of uraei above, pierced for attachment of the headdress (now missing), her ears pierced. Height 9" Chipped, with an old collection number painted in black.
