  Complete Set of Eighteen Different Naramore Counterfeit Detector Photo Cards. This is a complete collection of 18 Naramore photo cards, nine First Charter Nationals and nine Legal Tenders each in the denominations printed from $1 to $1,000, that has been well preserved. An act of Congress and cooperation of the Treasury Department gave R.C. Naramore the permission to photograph these notes at 25% of their original size in 1866. The government's consent was withdrawn shortly thereafter. This was the first time that United States paper money had been officially photographed for distribution to the public.

Lloyds Bank Travellers' Cheques and Letters of Credit Specimen Booklet. This "Booklet for Instructions for Payment" was issued by Lloyds Bank Limited of London, and includes instructions to bank employees and correspondents on receiving different financial instruments issued on the bank. Included are 12 specimen travellers' cheques, a specimen Letter of Credit, and a specimen Letter of Indication. These instruments date from the late 1950s and early 1960s, and in this form are indoubtedly scarce. This is the first booklet of its kind that we have seen. It is well preserved and basically in as issued New condition.

Three 1878 Distilled Spirits Internal Revenue Sheets. Three attractive BEP-printed sheets, each featuring four subject Distilled Spirits and Distillery Warehouse receipts printed for the Internal Revenue Service in 1878. The first features a vignette of Columbia, and the second and third feature different sized portraits of President Zachary Taylor. The sheet with the smaller portrait of Taylor is torn at the bottom right edge, while the other two sheets are basically problem-free and New as-printed. A fascinating trio that will find interest among collectors of BEP-issed ephemera. Lot of 3 sheets.

  Chicago, IL 1907 and 1933 Clearing House Certificates. Two sets of emergency scrip issued during a pair of 20th century financial panics, including: $1, $2, $5, and $10 1907 Chicago Clearing House Association notes, Choice AU to Choice CU; $1, $5, $10, $20, and $50 Chicago Clearing House Certificates, Choice AU to Choice CU. All are hole punch cancelled, and each is a striking reminder of financial panics that were not unlike that being experienced today. Also included is a typewritten letter explaining the significance of these notes, written by Monroe F. Cockrell who wrote a history of banking in Chicago in 1948. Lot of 9 notes.
