Lot 1204
1889-CC Morgan Dollar. NGC graded MS-62. Well struck, untoned and frosty. Popular Key Date and always in great demand. 1889-CC is legendary in the Morgan dollar series. All serious collectors have trouble locating a strong example for their date sets. This one is a very choice example of the date. To begin at the beginning, only 350,000 were struck, and precious few were saved in Mint State. It is unknown how many were found in Treasury bags, perhaps not even a full bag since fewer than 550 have been graded in Mint State by PCGS and NGC. Of the ones graded, this is "standard quality" for Mint condition, though lacking the usual prooflike reflection. A magnifying glass will note some contact marks from bag handling, nothing deep or distracting. If your collection requires a solidly graded coin, one that is problem-free, then look no further than this lot and give it the strong bid it deserves. Pop 95; 53 in 63, 41 in 64, 4 in 65, 1 in 67. 1892-S Morgan Dollar NCS Unc Details. Altered Surfaces Nice mirror surfaces and boldly struck. In grades up to the About Uncirculated level of preservation, the 1892-S is not a particularly rare issue to locate despite its low mintage of 1.2 million pieces. An accurately graded Mint State will, however, set collectors back a decent amount of money, since Mint State examples are rare. This piece is not plagued by excessive bagmarks, although the surfaces definitely have been worked on at one time. A coin, once viewed by interested parties (and we recommend viewing it first), that should see elevated levels of bidding among Morgan dollar specialists (PCGS # 7218) .

Scarce date in high grade, as well, since the preponderance of the issue seems to have passed into circulation (very few Mint States were ever found in Treasury hoards). 1892-S is among the most famous S-mint Morgan silver dollars (PCGS # 7218) .

1893-CC Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded MS-63. Mostly untoned with semi reflective fields. Intense but still satiny frost on the devices, the coin lightly scuffed to where a MS64 grade isn't quite available, yet the silver radiance persists almost undiminished, especially on the rolling cheek of Liberty. One would be hard put to add more about the mint bloom. As for the strike, the coin was struck with typical inexactness in the centers, although throughout the remaining areas, full definition in the hair curls and leafy ornamentation of Liberty's crown confirms the grade (PCGS # 7222) .

Lot 1226
1894 Morgan Dollar. NGC graded MS-64. Frosty and untoned. Popular low mintage date. The 1894 Morgan, one of only 110,000 pieces made, is the most difficult Philadelphia Morgan to find in such choice condition. There is no reason to chop words, we'll strike right to the heart of things: even the best silver dollar collections rarely have an example of this issue in Gem condition. Collectors of high value grades will find it particularly desirable, since the surface is exquisite, fully frosty and white. Almost MS65 quality in fact. One expects a few of the usual bagmarks and light rim nicks. MS64s, of course, cannot be perfect. Yet this particular coin is decidedly above the norm. Those who seek the utmost beauty in their coins will observe this handsome example with the respect it deserves. Again, the coin displays white creamy-smooth luster, centers are full, without the usual mushiness on the hair and eagle's breast. All in all, a splendid 1894 Morgan that bidders may have to compete for aggressively to acquire. We are sure it will end up as a focal point in a high-grade set of silver dollars (PCGS # 7228) .
