Struck from slightly rough dies on an imperfect flan, but the color is a lovely mixture of brown and red. Eagle on the obverse is finely detailed, pleasing in all respects. NGC graded MS-64.

Crest over value. Reverse: Blacksmith striking anvil. Similar to regular issue but small details and the relief are slightly different. This pattern was prepared in London, for a coining contract with the young Soviet government that had to sub-contract to meet its backlogged coinage needs. Only a few pieces known, Extremely Rare. Lots of old hairlines beneath a new coating of golden toning. NGC graded Proof 62.
