Autograph, 1982, James A. Michener Autograph. Signed on the third page of his 1982 book "SPACE" (1982, First Edition, 622pp., hard with dust jacket (faults). He has inscribed the book to the consignor: "Edwards AFB, 21 IX 82, To Deke and Bobbie, on the occassion of a fine bumpy visit to the great base. It was a privilege", Jim Michener/ Very bumpy at this point". This is a classic "space" genre book. Minor foxing on the page edges, but great overall condition and unusual.

Autographs, Lot of Two Books Autographed by the Authors. Included are "Men of Space" (volume 1) by Shirley Thomas (1960, First Edition, Second Printing, November 1966, 235pp., hard with dust jacket). This book, with a 1990 inscription: "To Deke, You are an outstanding man. I'm glad I knew you! Kind wishes, Shirley", includes profiles of the leaders in space and contains profiles of von Braun, Yeager, von Karman, van Allen, Tsiolkovsky, etc. ALSO, "Test Pilots, The Frontiersmen of Flight, an Illustrated History" by Richard P. Hallion (1981, First Edition, 347pp., hard with dust jacket). The title page is inscribed: "To Deke Slayton - one of the real history-makers - with respect and admiration, Richard P. Hallion, September 1982". Minor staining on the page edges. An interesting pair.

Astronaut Autographs. Lot of four different NASA 8x10" color reprint photographs (on Kodak paper) autographed by Wally Schirra (x2), Scott Carpenter and Frank Borman (on a NASA crew lithograph. ALSO included are handwritten letters by Jim Irwin (on his personal High Flight printed stationery 1981, folds) and by Alan Shepard (on undated green paper in which he mentions Apollo 14). There is a scrawled autograph of Ed Mitchell across both Shepard's signature and the note. An unusual, but interesting lot.
