Handel Iris Metal Overlay Lamp. Approximately 18 in. high, shade is 14½ in. diameter and is signed inside with a Handel metal tag. Original glass and patina to shade. Handel base has the original patina, heat cap, and finial. Rewired with new sockets. Signed on base with cloth label.

Handel 3/4 Cattail Lamp. Approximately 22¾ inches high. Shade is 17 inches in diameter. Original patina on shade and base and original sockets, acorn pulls, heat cap, and finial. Base is signed twice, both impressed and with a cloth label. Shade is signed twice, on the ring and a Handel tag inside on zipper.

Philip Handel was best known for the art glass lamps that he produced in Meriden, Connecticut at the turn of the century. In Robert DeFalco's book, Metal Overlays by Handel, he states: "Handel conceived and produced lamps with the idea that the fixture itself was sculpture and its luminescence fine art. In the true Arts and Crafts spirit, Handel captured the essence of the handcrafted quality and realized the vision of the the artist in every lamp."

Handel Pine Needle Desk Lamp. Approximately 13½ inches high. Shade is 5-7/8 inches in diameter. Both the base and shade retain their original patina. The base is marked with a cloth label and shade is signed on lower aspect of fitter.
