Airmail, 1931, 1fr Zeppelin. . Scott C7. Carried on the June 1931 Vaduz flight and used with a red flight cachet to Switzerland. This 1fr. cover is underfranked as the 1fr stamp was issued for use only on post cards and the 2fr value was for envelopes. Backstamped Gams/St. Gallen. Minor foxing on both stamp and envelope, but extremely rare usage.

U. S. "George Rogers Clark" Specialized Collection of Stamps and Covers. . Scott 651. A fascinating collection that includes B/4, Pb/6 and covers signed by various notables associated with the political and historical aspects of the Centennial including Fred C. Yohn (x7, the artist whose painting was used as the model for the stamp), Harry New (x6. Postmaster General), James Geoner (x2), James Watson, Harry Greslin (x3, Indiana Govenor), Myers Cooper (x2), Fred Green (x2, Michigan Govenor), Louis E… (x3, Illinois Govenor), Walter Kohler (x3, Wisconsin Govenor), Theodore Christianson (x2, Minnesota Govenor), Calvin Cooledge, Taft and over a dozen other important persons, all associated with this historic event. ALSO included are First Day Covers showing many of the different printer's cachets and used with different official and unofficial cancellations of the day. We note cachets from Shockley, Ploch, G. R. Clark Commission, etc (about 100 covers). A great collection that would be almost impossible to duplicate today.

An old-time two carton lot of collection balances (Schaubeck, Scott Interntional Junior, etc), covers, bulk, etc. We note nice Germany, Swiss, Italy, Netherland, etc. The covers are mostly an untouched worldwide pre/post WW II correspondence to/from Germany with strength in usd postal stationery. We note used worldwide bundles and assorted loose worldwide used in vintage envelopes. Mixed condition, but definitely worth a close look.
