Lot 1568
1914-D $10 Indian. NGC graded MS-65. A gorgeous gem specimen boasting rich golden mint bloom colors. Examples are seldom offered even in MS64, in spite of the relatively high mintage, and MS65 examples command a lot of respect in the numismatic community since few were saved at the time, collectors in those days rarely cherry picked coins for their sets. At the present level, the coin in this lot should attract a lot of bidders. Both the obverse and the reverse are very sharply struck. In fact, we are unable to locate any ill-defined areas. The luster is bright and glowing with a swirling cartwheel sheen and lovely toning. This is one of the prettiest 1914-D Indian eagles that this cataloger has even handled. Pop 33; 17 finer with 11 in 66, 6 in 67 (PCGS # 8876) .
Estimated Value $10,000 - 11,000.

Lot 1569
1914-S $10 Indian. PCGS graded MS-64 PQ. A gorgeous example! The lustrous surfaces are remarkably clean and exhibit exquisite mint bloom colors. Clean as a whistle, as one would look forward to from the grade, with Liberty's facial profile smooth and satiny; however, what really makes this break free from others is its cartwheel luster that rolls around each side. Substantial detail to the highpoints on this fine example, with a thorough and effectual imprint from the dies; there are no weak areas left by the recoil of the dies, none whatsoever. Pop 80; 11 finer with 10 in 65, 1 in 66 (PCGS # 8877) .
Estimated Value $10,000 - 11,000.

Lot 1571
1915 $10 Indian. NGC graded MS-63. Nice and frosty, untoned. A slightly scarcer issue.

If the incident at Sarajevo was the defining event of 1914, then the sinking of the ocean liner R.M.S. Lusitania by a German U-boat encapsulated the tensions in the water in 1915, the year of this Indian ten. President Woodrow Wilson tried to make hay of the sinking at the time, but the American public (outside of the wealthier elements of the Eastern establishment) seemed to shrug off the incident. Nevertheless, pressures were building and the stress of the wartime economy would soon cause a disruption in the issuance of gold coins in America (PCGS # 8878) .
Estimated Value $1,700 - 1,800.

Lot 1575
1932 $10 Indian. PCGS graded MS-65 CAC Approved. A splendid gem with delicate golden sunset toning. Uncommonly smooth with fully metallic, warm golden features. This is a strongly struck example of the last affordable Indian ten (the 1933 is a very expensive rarity), with excellent detail to all the important high points. Where sometimes you'll see the add on "with the possible exception of these regions (standard for the issue)", we are thrilled to say that no such add on is required. The coin is bold. Pop 878; 82 finer with 81 in 66, 1 in 67 (PCGS # 8884) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,250.

Lot 1576
1932 $10 Indian. PCGS graded MS-64. A touch of warm sunset toning adds to its appeal. 1932 along with 1926 and 1910-D are the three peak years in mintage within the confines of this series that ran from 1907 to 1933. Examples in choice MS64 condition, while regularly available, are scarcer than the more bagmarked low-grade examples the populate the bourse floors around the country (PCGS # 8884) .
Estimated Value $1,700 - 1,800.
