1763 Treaty of Paris Medal in Silver, Betts-446. NGC graded EF-45. 45mm, signed by Oexlein. By the terms of the Feb. 10, 1763 Treaty of Paris, it was decreed that all French possessions in America, west to the Mississippi River, would be ceded to Great Britain. Nicely toned.

William Pitt Medal in Silver, Betts-515. NGC graded AU-58. Weight 558.8 grains, 43mm. High relief bust of Pitt facing left; rev: 7 line inscription. Though undated, Betts lists a conjectural date of 1766. The NGC holder shows a parenthetical 1863. Pitt was very sympathetic to, and highly admired by, the American colonists during the period of oppresive taxation and other abuses that led to the American Revolution. Enhanced by attractive old cabinet toning. Scarce.

1853 Massachusetts Charitable Mechanical Association Silver Medal. 50.6 mm. NGC graded AU-55. "Award to Palmer & Hall for Magnetic Telegraph Apparatus Exposition 1853". Engraved by F.N. Mitchell. Allegorical figure of Industry with a moving train and lighthouse in background "Fear Not". Attractive dusky antique toning on both sides. A lovely and very interesting medal.

War of 1812, USS Constituiton Sea Battle Medal by Lovett. NGC graded AU-58. Ca. 1860s, R. Lovett Jr. Philadelphia, Series 3, 30.25mm, reeded edge. M-PA-344M. Commemorates the August 19, 1812 sea battle when superior gunnery of the Frigate USS Constitution resulted in a victory over the British ship Guerriere. Obv: Sea battle scene, rev: five line inscription within wreath. Nicely toned.

U.S. Mint Medal, 1866 General Meade, Julian PE-20. Bronze, 80mm, by Anthony C. Paquet and signed by him on obv. and rev. Mint State 60. Struck to honor Major General George Meade as Victor at the Battle of Gettysburg. Paquet's outstanding design struck in high relief. A few tiny scattered spots do not seriously detract from the eye appeal of this specimen, with handsome slightly reddish mahogany coloration.
