1809 American Seaman's Pay Document. DS by William Brown as Collector of the District of Mississippi, 8" x 5¼", New Orleans, 1809 Aug 18, certifying that Josiah Huff is a native of Massachusetts and has produced proof "in the Manner directed by the Act, entitled, 'An Act for the Relief and Protection of American Seamen'" that he is an American citizen. Intact seal for the "District of Mississippi / Custom House New-Orleans." Very good; overall toning; small chink at lower blank margin. Rare.

Custom-Made Knife Collection. A group of 21 different custom-made knives, 19 of which are in matching custom leather holsters. Four are folding models. We note such makers as G. David Henriksen, R.W. Loveless, Gary Randall, Sid Jirik, Joseph Cordove, Ruffin Johnson, A.G. Russell, Precise Deerslayer, Cordova, Timberline, Schrade, Rick, B.J. Knives, Hoffritz, Browning, Sharade, Bertram and Gerber Co. Sizes range from blades a few inches in length to a giant Bowie model with a 12.75 inch blade. Condition as new, but with some easily removeable verdigris from the leather holsters. Inspection by specialists is highly recommended as there are likely some special knives in this lot. Three misc. modern blades also included. Total of 24 pieces.

Small Pioneer Trunk, c. 1800-1820. Most likely a woman's trunk, used on a wagon train headed for the California Territory in the early 1800s. 19" long x 11" deep x 9" high. Wood, covered with animal hide and lined with printed canvas material. Decorated along edges and lid with brass studs, including the owner's initials "M F" on top of lid. One lid hinge broken, considerable fraying around edges of lid. Fair condition overall. A sentimental and rarely found piece from an important and fascinating era in American history.

Spurs - Crockett Engraved Silver Inlaid. Steel with detailed floral-print silver inlays on the yokes and strap buttons, plus silver blossom-like rowels attached to leg-shaped shanks with silver boot tips. Good condition.

Large Collection of Military Toys, Britains Soldiers, Vehicles, etc. A group of aprox. 50 different items by various makers including Britains, Dinky, Tri-Ang Minic, Lesney, Marx, Tootsietoy, etc., in metal, composition and plastic. Consists of mounted horseman, tanks, tracked vehicles, various types of artillery, mostly vehicle mounted or wheeled with one stationary, motorcycle gunner, various Dinky Supertoy military carriers, missle and repair vehicles along with a few civilian vehicles. The highlight of the group is a ca. 1937 Britains "Army Ambulance Khaki No. 1612" in the original box with driver and wounded man on stretcher, this in generally nice condition with only a few small paint chips and minor flaws. Also included a Britains Searchlight Truck, this well used but mostly intact. Condition ranges from well used with damage to very good. Specilaists in this category should view the lot as there are likely some scarcer pieces and our modest estimate may prove to be quite conservative. Sold as is--no returns.
