Diplome de Record (framed to 14x11") This Federation Aeronautique Internationale "Diploma de Record" is the official recognition of the flight of Apollo-Soyuz as being the "first joint spaceflight based on distance by a group, 1,488,320km". The F. A. I. is the international body recognized by all countries that certifies each and every record breaking aviation and space flight. The flight didn't happen unless they certify that it met the requirements as having taken place. This certificate bears the names of Stafford, Brand, Slayton, Leonov and Kubasov and they each undoubtedly have a copy for their records. A rare document and a must for any student of space and the ASTP flight in particular.

It is presented to a person who, by distinguished ability, or courage, has personally made a contribution representing substantial progress to aeronautical or space exploration in the interests of the United States. The medal is engraved on the reverse "Donald K. Slayton / February 27, 1982". It is mounted in its original blue box with gold trim and velvet interior (4.25x4.5x1.5"). Included with the medal are a lapel emblem and a ribbon rosette as issued. A historic and important piece of memorabilia.

The medal is engraved on the reverse "Donald K. Slayton 1993". It is mounted in its original blue/gold box (4x7x1"). Included with the medal are a miniature, half-size dress medal, a lapel emblem, a service ribbon and a ribbon rosette as issued. A historic and important piece of memorabilia.

Apollo Soyuz, NASA Distinguished Service Medal Certificate (10.5x14") This hand-painted certificate on parchment paper reads, in part: "…For his outstanding performance in directing NASA flight operations and for his leadership of the continuous and rapid adaptation of NASA's astronaut training activities to the experience gained from Mercury and Gemini flights. His training of the ten Gemini astronauts who, in 1965, flew more than 1,250 hours in space to demonstrate the capabilities of the Gemini spacecraft…". Presented along with the medal in 1965, this certificate is hand-signed by James E. Webb, NASA Administrator and R. C. Seamans, Deputy Administrator. Some edge corner faults and minor running of some of the painted capital letters, this unique document is an important piece of space memorabilia. Unique.

NASA EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE MEDAL. This original NASA Exceptional Service Medal was awarded TWICE, and is inscribed on the reverse to: "Jerome B. Hammack, January 12, 1969 AND October 2, 1969". In addition, TWO multicolor Medal presentation certificates (each framed to 16x12.5") presented to Jerome B. Hammack are included., One, signed by Tom Paine, Acting Administrator, NASA, and dated January 8, 1969 was awarded for "his contributions to the success of Apollo 8, mankind's first venture beyond earth gravity into orbit around the moon…". The other is signed by Tom Paine, Administrator, NASA, dated 29 September, 1969 was awarded for "his contributions to the success of the Apollo Program…". ALSO included is the original box the medal was issued in. Unfortunately, the small formal medal and the rosette are missing from the set. A phenominal piece of memorabilia awarded to one of the key players in America's march to the moon.

Apollo Soyuz, 1975, Society of Experimental Test Pilot's Award (7x7x2") This striking lucite Award has a metal disc showing the ASTP spacecraft superimposed over the world. The four sides of the Award have descriptive plates mounted. Two are in Russian. The other two read: "Presented by The Society of Experimental Test Pilots in Appreciation of Man's First Joint International Space Mission, September 27, 1975" and "Members of Apollo / Stafford, Slayton, Brand - Members of Soyuz / Leonov, Kubasov". Minor faults but an extremely scarce Award.

Apollo Soyuz, French Aeronautical Bronze Award (4x3") This bronze plaque was issued by the "Salon du Bourget" and minted by the Monnaie de Paris. The plaque was presented to compliment the exploits of and engraved to "M. Bellonte, 1930 and D. Slayton, 1975". It was presented on 11 June 1979. It comes in its original fitted case. Scarce and seldom available.

Apollo Soyuz, "AIAA" Presentation Award (5x2") This heavy award consists of an original metal "Tie Down Bolt" with engraved ID numbers mounted on a wooden plaque (9x5"). There is an engraved plaque that reads: "Honoring the contributions of Donald K. Slayton to the Aerospace Profession AIAA-Houston Section, May 22, 1981". Striking and scarce.

Apollo Program, Misc, "NASA Group Achievement Award" (14x11") This original multicolored certificate was presented to Donald K. Slayton / Lunar Landing Team / for outstanding contributions to the Apollo Program. The technical Skill, dedication and resourcefulness of the Lunar Landing Team were significant facgors in the successful achievement of the objectives of the Apollo lunar landing program". The certificate is signed by James C. Fletcher, NASA Administrator and includes its original envelope. A minor edge bend does not detract. Scarce and attractive.

Apollo Soyuz, Awards, etc. An interesting lot of Awards presented to the consignor over the years. Included is a Certificate of Achievement (11x15") from the Commonwealth of Virginia (1961, extensive water damage from the "big" Houston flood, a certificate folder from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (1981) electing the consignor as a "Fellow" of the Institute (12x14"), a "Joint Resolution" of the State of Wisconsin honoring Slayton (1993, 8.5x14") and presented to wife Bobbie, after his passing AND a 2001 International Aerospace Hall of Fame presentation certificate (9x11.5") honoring him. An attractive lot.

Apollo Soyuz, Misc., Deke Slayton's "Resolutions & Awards". An interesting lot of seven plus different including 1) a Resolution by an Ohio State Senator welcoming Deke as a 1996 into the Aviation Hall of Fame, 2) a Proclamation from the Mayor of League City, TX (his residence) congratulating "Deke" on his induction into the Aviation Hall of Fame, 3) a 1962 City of Houston Appointment of Deke as an Honorary Citizen and a Goodwill Ambassador. 4) a 1961 Appointment by the State of Florida honoring Deke with Honorary Citizenship, 5) a hand illuminated Award to Deke by the 1965 Wisconsin State Easter Seal Campaign, 6) an undated Certificate of Merit by the National Amvet Auxiliary awarded to MRS Donald K. Slayton and 7)A Gold Record by Charles Buckley from the Nashville (TN) Area Chamber of Commerce - singing, "We're glad you came", "Please come back again", etc. An interesting lot with some age stains and faults. A great addition to any collection.
