Lot Photo Description Realized
Lot 2034
1916-D Mercury Dime. Sharpness of VF-30. Cleaned and some obverse scratches. The main devices show only moderate amounts of circulation wear, leaving much detail in Liberty's cap and wing, as well as a good portion of the vertical rods in the fasces. The year this dime was realeased in 1916 it was soon discovered how few had been minted. Because most reached circulation, the race was on by early day collectors to acquire one before they all disappeared (PCGS # 4907) .
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,200.
