1808 S-277 R2. Fine-15. Turban Head. Sharpness near VF30 but covered with uniform microscopic granularity under a glossy dark olive and steel patina. No marks or verdigris. Struck very slightly off center to K-7, but everything remains on the planchet. Rare terminal die state, Breen state IX, with clear rim cud breaks at the N and ED in UNITED.

1808 S-277 R2. VG-10. Turban Head. 12-Star Obverse Die State. Close to F12 but there are a half dozen nicks on the obverse, including a sharp one on the bust tip and another in the field at the throat. The reverse is better and would grade several points higher that the obverse. Attractive glossy medium brown and chocolate. M-LDS, Breen state VII. Star #1 is gone thanks to die failure and sinking on the reverse at STAT, the so-called 12-star obverse die state.

The surfaces are satiny and covered with fine die flowlines giving this cent attractive cartwheel luster. EAC grade AU58, very close to mint state.

Otherwise this piece offers excellent eye appeal. M-LDS with flowline luster covering the protected areas. EAC graded EF40 net VF30. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label.

1814 S-295 R1 Plain 4 with Obverse Double Struck. PCGS graded EF-40. Turban Head. Glossy dark chocolate and olive brown mixed with lighter reddish brown, especially on the reverse. Very light roughness covers much of the planchet, mostly in protected areas. No verdigris or contact marks. Double struck. Both strikes were reasonably well centered on the planchet, but the offset was at least a millimeter between the impressions. The obverse shows strong doubling with two dates, 26 stars, and strong doubling on the portrait. The reverse, however, does not show any doubling. Rather it was struck against a new blank planchet on the second strike, thus producing a reverse brockage on the second planchet. The PCGS label mentions the double strike on the obverse. MDS. EAC grade EF40 net VF25.
