China. A Lot of Vintage to Antique Jade, a Lot of Mostly Small Carvings. Circa 17th -20th century. Items in celadons, greens, and off whites; plus carnelian, bowenite, aventurine, and perhaps a piece or two of glass. Many assorted figural, animal (cicadas and bats, and birds), and vegetable motifs typically used by the Chinese are represented here in miniature. Including a delightful urn in jade, and a deep bowl in carnelian. Lengths: 5/8" - 4-3/4". A worthwhile lot that should be inspected for the treasures within. A number of charming carvings; plus a large carved jade plaque on a stand; and a nicely carved seated Ganesha in ivory, India, c. 1960's. Lot of over 30 items.

A Large Desk Stamp, Finely Carved in Virtually Flawless Quartz Crystal. Perhaps German, c. 1885-1915. This splendidly realized seal in clean, optical grade quartz. Stamp is oval in section, with thick plate for the engraved seal, a stalk with moldings, and a tapered and faceted handle. The seal engraved with a ducal crest (crowned helmet of a knight), above quartered shield with slanting bars and two scenes of three mountains. The motto beneath: "Nec Aspera Terrent." Perhaps a display piece, or a commission never picked up, the stamp absolutely pristine and without wear. Height: 3-1/2". A fabulous bibelot from a more civilized era!

Desk Stamp with Unusual Finial of a Man in 18th Century Costume Holding Two Rearing Horses. Continental, c. early 20th century. Stamp fashioned in a yellow metal, perhaps a base gold of around 6 to 8 karat, which has toned nicely in areas over the years. Tiny cruciform hallmark about mid-length on the piece. Sealing base unengraved. Height: 3-3/4". Weight: 50 grams.

Sumptuously Ornate Renaissance-Style Inkwell Set in Brass-plated Metal. Continental, c. 1850-1900. The inkwell holder constructed of a number of pieces, without any maker's mark discernible. Attractively detailed in the late Victorian manner where more is better. The piece overflowing with intricate arabesques, heraldic griffins, and a large lion mask to oversee the rack where one's pens would rest. The whole very well preserved, with only the glass receptacles for the ink lacking. Width: 12".

Lot of Two Finely Crafted Desk Stamps, in Silver and Ivory. France, c. 1880-1920. Both slim, smaller examples, with neatly worked silver fittings on very tactile ivory handles, which are beginning to show a warm amber tone from use. The sealing devices are both simple monograms, one "MT", the other "MM," engraved as ornate caligraphic letters. Both pieces lightly used, and beautifully preserved. Heights: 3-1/4", 3-1/2". One with original fitted case; the other in the antique box it may well have come in.

Russian Small Silver Lot. Circa late 19th - early 20th century. A pair of spun silver cups, Czarist, both with gilding. One with machine turned ornament; the second similar, plus some hand cutting. Also four small scent bottles: three traditional, in silver and niello; and a Soviet Era one, showing a monument to Lenin. Tallest: 3". Plus five 14 kt. yellow gold coin bezel pendants, totaling 5.95 gms., to hold coins of 20 mm. diameter. Along with these, an attractive silver brooch, c. early 20th century Swedish or Danish, with two Viking warriors on skis; 2-1/4" diameter. Interesting material., Lot of 12 items.
