Pre-Civil War Military Coat. Pre-Civil War American Massachusetts Ancient Honorable Artillery coat, circa 1840's-1850's. The buttons were eventually upgraded for Civil War use. Three of the four epaulette buttons are missing; otherwise, this piece of history is in very good condition.

Ambrotype of Union Officer With Sword - One-Sixth Plate. Seated portrait of an officer holding his sword in his left hand. In exceptionally good condition, as is the gilt surround and the patriotic thermoplastic Union case featuring an image of the Monitor on each side.

Battery A, First Middle Tennessee Light Artillery--A Federal Company. Lithograph celebrating the company which was recruited at Memphis in June 1862 from Northerners who were in the South when the war broke out. 21"x 17¼", lithographed and printed by Chas. Shober, Chicago (c. June 1863). With patriotic scenes at the top, a list of the officers (commanded by Capt. Ephraim P. Abbot), privates, etc, and an explanation at the bottom about the formation of the company, and some of the hardships it had gone through. The company was still at Clarksville, Tenn when the lithograph was made. It ends with two patriotic verses; the first says: "Long may this patriot band / On the hills of Clarksville stand, Ready to fight their country's foe, And give the traitors a death-blow…." The company fought throughout the war and was mustered out in July 1865. Very good; a 9" closed tear on verso; overall toning and some edge chipping.

Tintype of A Union Soldier With Bayonet. One-ninth plate, hip-length portrait. The soldier's buttons and insignia.are gold tinted. One scratch and one small black spot in background. With brass surround; Union case is worn and taped at spine; clasp works.
