April 1, 1815 document listing Land and Slaves. Penned document, 1 page on 1½ sides, 12" x 7½". A detailed listing of the lands, lots of ground with their improvements, dwelling houses and houses and slaves owned by Henry Dickerson on April 1, 1815 lying within the first district of Virginia in the County of Russell joining Dickinsonville:… "Twenty-six Slaves of the following description - Males - Five between 12 and 50 years Valued at $1400……Males - Five under 12 years old Valued at $800.-----Females - One over 50 years old Valued at $50; Six between 12 and 50 Valued at $1400, one of them six blind - ….Nine under 12 years old Valued at $1300. Total Slaves $4950.00 - Total Land $4750.00". An excellent detailed accounting showing related values among slaves. Fine condition.

A listing of the land with its improvements, dwellings houses and slaves owned by Samuel Porter of the State of Virginia in the County of Wyth on April 1, 1815. The property valued at $2500. "Five Slaves of the following descriptions: Males - 2 under 12 years; Females - 1 over 50 years, 1 between 12 and 50 years, 1 under 12 years - Valued at $600.00". An interesting early accounting on slaves and real estate values. Fine condition.
