Lot 2914
1863 Liberty Seated Dollar. NGC graded MS-62. Well struck with light even toning. Only 27,200 minted. A gorgeous specimen of the quality that is most affordable yet still draws nods of approval from the collecting community. The semi-prooflike yet lustrous surfaces show signs of mingled light gray to brownish color. Agreeably well struck to say the least, in fact fully so, to the point where special reference is mandatory here. A few light marks at Liberty's arm (the one supporting the shield) and a few others in the field including a thin chatter-line above the eagle. The eagle, by the way, is remarkably sharp and detailed along with the shield. Pop 5; 34 finer (PCGS # 6953) .
Estimated Value $3,800 - 4,000.

Lot 2915
1865 Liberty Seated Dollar. NGC graded Proof 66 Cameo. A well struck white gem. Struck from an original Proof mintage of just 500 pieces comes this gleaming, cameo-frosted specimen. The brilliant surface and lack of distracting blemishes allows full play for the '66-quality mirror field and contrasting devices; collectors will appreciate the coin's beauty. Very appealing. And where the devices are satin frosted in finish, the fields are nice and reflective, watery in their shine. As with other Proofs made this year, the coin is fully struck from carefully made dies. That makes this a coin that is sure to see lots of bidding at the sale. A popular date among Type Set buyers, the 1865 is the last Proof issue in the No Motto seated Liberty dollar series. Only 500 Proofs minted. Pop 4; 1 in 67 Star (PCGS # 7008) .
Estimated Value $18,000 - 20,000.

Lot 2916
1867 Liberty Seated Dollar. NGC graded Proof 66 Ultra Cameo. Well struck and a fully white gem. A gorgeous specimen in terms of both technical quality and general visual appeal. Fully frosted cameos contrast with the smooth-mirrored fields on this remarkable specimen. The obverse peripheral stars are needle-sharp; the same goes for Liberty, her shield, and the folds in her dress, everything shows gorgeous detail. The reverse duplicates this process with areas of mint brilliance surrounding similar needle-point detail on the eagle and its shield. Magnified a hundred-fold, this coin would stand out from a mile away! Study of both sides suggests that this coin is every bit as nice as the grade implies, and then some, and reveals a coin that has been preserved with ample care since Day One. A superlative Proof with obvious originality and loads going for it. Nothing modest about it! Only 625 Proofs struck. Pop 4; None finer at either service.
Estimated Value $15,000 - 17,000.
