Lot 2729
1950 Washington Quarter Dollar. NGC graded Proof 68 Cameo. Star. A superb white Gem Proof tied for finest graded. Aesthetically tempting, as fine a looking coin with full strike as you are apt to see in a 1950 Proof quarter dollar, and all the while bristling with dazzling mint bloom, not one iota in the way of toning. And so next to the devices, which are sharply struck on obverse and reverse. But what else would one expect. The extreme rarity of cameo Proofs in 1950 has been commented upon by others, so we shall let the bidding speak for those "in the know." Pop 4; none finer.
Estimated Value $7,500 - 8,000.

Lot 2735
1966 Washington Quarter Dollar. SMS. NGC graded MS-68. A brilliant gem coin. Since these tend to have so-so luster and problems with marks, the 1966 SMS quarters have taken on a level of international fame only dreamed of back in the days when these were issued to replace the temporarily cancelled Proof Sets. A highly lustrous Superb Gem that has rich white nickel-pure sheen and a razor-sharp strike. There is always one that grades the finest. And this is it! Pop 1; none finer in MS UCAM SMS at NGC (PCGS # 5998) .
Estimated Value $7,500 - 8,000.
