Lot Photo Description Realized
Lot 2463
1943 Silver Cent. NGC graded AU-58 Mint Error. Struck on a Dime planchet, 2.5 grams. Due to the thinness of the planchet, portions of the legends at the edge did not strike entirely, leaving LIB weak, as well as the tops of IN GOD WE TRUST; similarly for the reverse. Lustrous.
Estimated Value $700 - 900.

Lot 2464
1943-S Lincoln Cent Mint Error. PCGS graded VF-30 Struck on Silver 10C Flan. PCGS #21445180. Important mint error struck in silver. Struck on a silver planchet intended for dime coinage, it seems that this cent evaded quality control due to its similarity in appearance to the zinc-steel cents of 1943. This specimen is an attractively toned and appealing one, well-struck and free from injury. While 1943 copper cents bask in the limelight of fame, 1943 silver cents are extremely popular with error collectors as well, and few are luckily within the affordable price range of this piece. The same owner also consigned in this sale the Famous 1943 Copper Cent (PCGS # 2717) .
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500.

Lot 2466
1955 Lincoln Cent. Doubled die obverse. PCGS graded MS-63 Brown PQ. A Premium Quality coin with only a couple of small marks in the hair. Strong doubling is seen at IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY, and of course the date, but also, if you look closely, Lincoln's bow tie is doubled, and so too the eyelid and lips. One of the most famous (and popular) minting errors to come out of the 1950s decade (PCGS # 2825) .
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,150.
