1870 Liberty Seated Half Dime. NGC graded MS-64. Gold and green toning on both sides with frosty underlying surfaces. Half dimes were superceded by the shield five-cent nickels in 1866, and soon abandoned by the Mint with passage of the Coinage Act of 1873. Pop 59; 39 finer. (PCGS # 4396) .

1853 Liberty Seated Dime. Arrows. NGC graded MS-63. Nice array of colors on the obverse, possibly tracing to long time storage in an old 1940s era coin album. The dies left their rigid impression behind without the least weakness or imprecision on Liberty or the wreath. This is a three-year Type.

1878 Liberty Seated Dime. NGC graded Proof 63 Cameo. Mostly white. 800 Proofs struck. Clockwork precision seen in the hair on Liberty, the lines in the shield, and on all portions of the "wreath of cereals" a reverse motif that carried over (somewhat modified) into the replacement Barber dime series of 1892-1916. Pop 4; 17 finer; 9 in 64; 5 in 65; 2 in 66; 1 in 67. (PCGS # 4775) .
