Augustus, 27 BC-14 AD. Asian AE 24 mm. - As, Ephesus mint(?), c. 25 BC. Bare head of Augustus right / Laurel wreath, AVGVSTVS within (RPC 2235; RIC 486). Also, a large silvered Follis of Constantius I (293-305 AD.), as Caesar, Ticinum mint: Moneta reverse (cf. RIC 46a). Obverse a little softly struck, but reverse fresh and sharp. Lustrous with most of silvering intact. Lastly, a small AE 15 of Maroneia, c. 400-325 BC.: Galloping horse right / Grape arbor in square. Good beginner's lot. Lot of 3 coins.

Lot of Eleven Roman AR Denarii, c. 115 BC to 117 AD. Beginning in the Rome's Republic, coins include M. Cipius M.f. (Sear II 166); L. Flaminius Cilo (Sear II 179);and C. Postumius Ta (Sear II 330). The Imperial coinage includes Augustus (Sear II 1633), with clipeus and two standards; Nero; Galba; Vespasian; Titus (Sear II 2506), with triumphal quadriga; Domitian; Nerva; and Trajan. Inspection suggested due to varieties of preservation and coin surfaces. Good starter group for the beginning collector, as it includes a number of the "better name" emperors. Lot of 11 coins. Coins range from Good to Very Fine plus.

Roman Imperial, Lot of Seven AE Aes, 1st & 2nd centuries AD. A varied group, including: Tiberius (Caduceus, Sear II 1771); Claudius (Constantia, Sear II 1857); Nero (Victory, cf. Sear II 1976); Domitian (Virtus/Roma, cf. Sear II 2817; Nerva (Aequitas, Sear II 3060), with choice portrait; Aelius (Spes, Sear II 3993); and Marcus Aurelius (Minerva, Sear II 4838). Inspection suggested due to varieties of preservation and surfaces, and perhaps some tooling to the Claudius coin. But overall some pleasant material here. Lot of 7 coins. Coins range from Very Good to Very Fine plus.

Vespasian, 69-79 AD. AR Denarius, Rome mint, struck c. 71 AD. Laureate head right. Reverse: Pax enthroned left, holding branch and caduceus (RIC 39). Very choice portrait, and lustrous; reverse die worn. Also, a Denarius of Antoninus Pius, the reverse with togate Pius sacrificing over tripod altar (RIC 579). Lightly toned. Attractive lot. Lot of 2 coins. Coins average Very Fine.

The bronzes comprise Antoniniani, Centenionales, and both large and reduced Folles of: Diocletian, Constantine I, Constantius Chlorus, Constantius II, Licinius I & II, Theodosius, and others. Silver includes Denarii of Hadrian (broken), and Caracalla; plus Antoniniani of Gordian III, Valerian, and Salonina. Inspection suggested. Lot of 26 coins. Included are two Severan denarii: Septimius Severus: Victory (Sear II 6381); and an attractive Caracalla: Dea Caelestis in Carthage (Sear II 6806). Plus Trajan Decius and his wife: "Adventus" type (Sear II 9366); Pudicitia (Sear II 9495). A nice beginner's group. Some with attractive toning. Lot of 4 coins. Coins average Very Fine.

Macrinus, 217-218 AD. AR Denarius, Rome, 217-218 AD., and other 3rd century silvers. Laureate and draped bust right / Fides Militum holding standards (Sear II 7335). Sharp devices, nicely toned. Along with pleasant denarii of: Elagabalus, Severus Alexander, and a teenage Maximinus. Plus an antoninianus of Trajan Decius, with "adventus" reverse. Inspection suggested due to varieties of preservation and surfaces. Overall, attractive pieces. Lot of 5 coins.

The balance of the lot mostly AE 4's of: Arcadius, Valentinian, Theodosius, and others. Inspection suggested, but many of the coins with pleasant hard green patinas. Lot of 34 coins.
