A Very Fine and Colorful Lot of Antique Snuff Bottles. China and Japan, c. 19th to early 20th century. Six of the bottles in porcelain-glazed copper, mostly with human subjects or rearing dragons; one a garden scene of flowers and vases, with poem on one side. Another in blue an white porcelain with tiny figures outdoors. The last three in "Peking glass," in layered clear and colored glass -- the colored decoratively carved and shaped, the clear with interior painted scenes. Bottles range from good to choice condition; not all caps original. Average bottle height: 3". Lot of 10 items.

Nice Little Figural Group, Carved from a Large Turquoise Nugget. China, late 20th century. Depicted are two maidens in elaborate courtly attire, in a garden. One seated and holding an open scroll, while the second looks one, a fan held to her head. Their garments an arabesque of stylish flourishes to match the foliage behind them. Carved out of attractively colored blue to blue-green stone, with only moderate grayish matrix visible. A few scarcely noticeable chips about the edges. Size: 3" x 3".

Lot of Oriental Collectibles. Japan & China, c. 18th - 20th century. Three items ivory. Oldest, a figure of Shou Xin holding a staff and a peach; with traces of polychrome. Vintage: from Japan, an ivory and hardwood figure of a smiling fisherman, with catch at his feet; plus a cannister in bamboo, lacquered, with crane motif. China: a pagoda-like Buddhist portable shrine. Last, a Chinese scepter, with three jade plaques set into stylish wood frame. Heights: 4-3/4" - 20-1/2". Nice display pieces. Lot of 5 items.

Antique and Vintage Smoking Accessories. Germany and Elsewhere, 19th - early 20th century. The most delightful item of this group being the carved meerschaum pipe bowl of a saucy young lady dressed for some horseplay, complete with riding crop! (Repaired at leg, with slight losses.) Also a vintage Dutch wood pipe carved as a wooden shoe. Also antique cloisonnée cigarette holders from the Orient, and similar, in silver, from Mexico, plus one in 14 kt yellow gold, plus the tiniest lighter ever seen -- also Mexico, in silver. and an automated crush-proof metal frame for a cigarette box, plus two agate and metal boxes -- one for holding matches. Largest item: 5". Lot of 13 items.

Pair of Whale's Teeth with Scrimshaw "Man o' Wars." U.S.A., c. 1960's -70's. Pair of killer whale's teeth, with finely engraved 18th century military ships sailing to the fore. Each signed "RM." Well done renderings on teeth of good size, make for a nice maritime display. Lot of 2 items.
