The fields and protected areas are covered with attractive flowline luster, and the eye appeal is excellent. The only marks are two small spots of darker toning at the dentils under star 1. M-LDS. The overdate is dull but easily visible. Comes with the Wyatt collection pillbox.

1820/19 Coronet Head Cent. . N-3, R2. AU-58 Small Overdate. Lustrous light steel brown with darker steel brown toning on the highpoints of the obverse. There are hints of faded mint color in protected areas of the reverse. No defects, only a hint of friction on the highest points from mint state. Nicely struck E-MDS. The 2 over 1 part of the overdate is bold and the undertype 9 is still visible inside the 0. An attractive example that comes with an imprssive provenance.

There is a fine hairline scratch on the throat and a small pitmark under the right base of the E in CENT. No verdigris, and the color is an attractive glossy chocolate and light olive brown. The obverse is quite attractive, the reverse less so but still quite acceptable. Nicely struck MDS. Called EF45 net VF35 in the Noyes census, his photo #31697.
