Doolittle, James H. and Richard E. Byrd. Two Signatures ("J.H. Doolittle") in black ink on 2½x4" slips of paper, n.p., n.d. Very fine. Aviation pioneer Doolittle (1896-1993) is best known for leading the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo on 18 April 1942. With Signature ("R E Byrd") on a small page affixed to a 3x5" card. Byrd (1888-1957) was a famous aviator and pioneer polar explorer. (3 items).

Earhart, Amelia & Arthur Goebel. Program for a dinner given by the Women's Traffic Club of Los Angeles on 8 Nov. 1929 honoring Amelia Earhart, Signed in green ink inside the program, at the top of the menu, "Amelia Earhart / T.A.T." [Transcontinental Air Transport], 7x5¼. Also signed in pencil by Arthur C. Goebel, a pioneer aviator, who was a guest of honor. The dinner was held in the Hotel Alexandria in Los Angeles. At the time of the dinner, Miss Earhart flew for Transcontinental Air Transport, which was the country's first rail/air transcontinental travel service and for which Charles Lindbergh served as a technical consultant.

Lindbergh, Charles A. Typed Letter Signed, 2 pp, 10½x8½", Westport, Conn., 8 May 1945. Fine; normal folds; one holograph correction. Matted with an image of Lindbergh and framed to an overall size of 16x28¾". To John Sherman Hoyt, regarding summer use of the Fish Islands and the purchase of a property there. "…Probably it would be wise to restrict the public use of the inner two Islands…so that we establish no precedent which might cause harding [ing crossed out] feelings in breaking later on…."

The Bf 109 designed in 1934 by Messerschmidt, with Walter Rethel, became the most important fighter in the German Luftwaffe. Messerschmitt's Bf 209, held the world speed record for propeller-driven aircraft for decades. Photograph Signed in blue ink below the wing of the plane, 11¾x15¾", n.p., n.d. Fine. The plane that is pictured is an experimental, rocket-driven plane that was tested toward the end of World War II.

(Wright Brothers) Lorin Wright. Check accomplished and signed "Wright Brothers" by Lorin Wright (1862-1939), brother of aviators Wilbur and Orville Wright. The check is written on The Winters National Bank, Dayton, Ohio, 7 Sept. 1912, and is made out to himself for $19.10. Lorin also endorsed the check on the verso. Cancellation perforations lightly affect the word "Wright" in both signatures on the front. Although he worked as a bookkeeper in Dayton for many years, Lorin helped his famous brothers in various ways, including working in their print shop and helping his sister Katharine manage the Wright Cycle company while Wilber and Orville were in Kitty Hawk.
