Lot 139
(Apollo 11) Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins. Individual signatures of the Apollo 11 crew: Mission commander Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon; lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon; and command module pilot Michael Collins ("M Collins"). Each man signed on a yellow 3x5" card. Armstrong's is in fine condition; the other two are very good, having some show-through from old tape marks on verso.

Apollo 11 Crew. 14x11" NASA publicity photograph of the launch of Apollo 11 Signed "Neil Armstrong" and "Buzz Aldrin" in black marker, and "Mike Collins" in silver marker. Very fine condition. The launch took place on July 16, 1969. On July 20th Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first and second humans to walk on the lunar surface and return to Earth.

Apollo 8 Crew. NASA publicity color Photograph Signed "Jim Lovell," Bill Anders," and "Frank Borman, 10x8", n.p., n.d. The three astronauts made up the crew of the second manned Apollo Mission, which was launched on 21 Dec. 1968 and returned to Earth on 27 Dec.

(Eight Astronauts -- Includes Five Moonwalkers). A group of astronaut signatures, each on a 3x5" card, n.p., n.d. Five Moonwalkers are included: Neil Armstrong, Alan Shepard, Ed Mitchell, David Scott, and Jim Irwin. The three other astronauts in this group-- Jack Swigert, Stuart Roosa, and Al Worden-- came within a few hundred kilometers of the Moon. A ninth card in this group is signed "John" and may be Moonwalker John Young. Armstrong's card is very good, with some show-through from old tape marks on the verso; all others are fine.

Gagarin, Yuri & Gherman Titov. Untranslated Russian Document Signed by the two Soviet cosmonauts, who were the first and second persons to orbit the Earth, 1 p, 11x8¼", 1962. Fine. Both men signed in black ink. Gagarin (1934- 1968) went into space on 12 April 1961 and Titov (1935- 2000) went into space on 6 August 1961.
