In our opinion the stamp has original gum and is very lightly hinged, with the hinge marks reworked (brushed). Tied by St. Helena Calif. Apr 22, 1925 grid duplex on a 1¢ Franklin round die entire, used locally, while not officially sanctioned by the U.S.P.O., this was the correct new 3rd class rate, pencil note at bottom "…Postmaster did not have any half cent stamps, hence this one".
