Lot 2611
1917-S Liberty Walking Half Dollar. Mint mark on reverse. PCGS graded MS-64. Frosty white example. A beauty, with nice original silvery color on lightly toned, virtually undisturbed surfaces free of tarnish. A unsuccessful strike was sometimes left by the rebound of the dies that coined this years' half dollars, but the features here are all above-average with the sole exception of Liberty's hand area, which is a trifle soft. There are one or two small marks on the eagle's body. A scarce issue from the San Francisco Mint. Pop 162; 41 finer. (PCGS # 6573) .
Estimated Value $3,600 - 3,900.

Lot 2612
1917-S Liberty Walking Half Dollar. Mint mark on reverse. PCGS graded MS-64. A brilliant example. Crisp freezing white, almost undisturbed mint luster that is untoned and very choice. Devices as "sharp as a two-edged sword" for the most part, which is all the more unusual for a 1917-dated half dollar. Pop 161; 44 finer (PCGS # 6573) .
Estimated Value $3,600 - 3,900.

Lot 2613
1918-S Liberty Walking Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64. Nice frosty white coin. A gorgeous specimen of the optimum, hand-picked order for this choice grade. The very lustrous surfaces show signs of mingled very light patina. Agreeably well struck to say the least for 1918-S, although not fully so, but near enough to merit reference here. The earliest walking Liberty halves are the most difficult to obtain in Mint condition. Particularly is this the case with D and S mints. Pop 262; 32 finer; 30 in 65; 1 in 66; 1 in 67. (PCGS # 6576) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500.

Lot 2614
1919 Liberty Walking Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-65. An outstanding well toned gem. This is a original Gem whose richly frosted surfaces are free of any distracting bagmarks. Both sides are overlaid in toning. The strike is bold, if not sharp throughout, and the eye appeal is noteworthy. The Philadelphia Mint's production of half dollars fell to 962,000 coins in 1919. While the most available of the three 1919-dated issues in Gem quality, the this is definitely a rare and admired coin. Acquiring this handsome coin might displace a lower quality specimen in ones set. But if human nature is any guide, the successful bidder will bear the separation with much fortitude. Only 962,000 coins minted. Pop 51; 22 finer. (PCGS # 6577) .
Estimated Value $4,500 - 5,000.

Lot 2615
1921 Liberty Walking Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-63 PQ. Nice original toning. The bold detail on this coin should make somebody's day when the collector who has been looking for just such an example of this rare early date Walker finds out that it is offered for sale. For the fact is, there is just a bit of medium toning on each side and no distracting abrasions; it is really the strike that is the most memorable quality about this scarce coin (PCGS # 6583) .
Estimated Value $6,000 - 6,500.

Lot 2616
1921-D Liberty Walking Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-63. Mostly untoned and a soft strike. Scarce and popular coin. A fresh pale silvery example of this elusive date with full luster present and enough eye appeal to attract bids from around the country. Just viewing it, words are pouring into our mind but the photographs (or the coin itself) should do the speaking. Such rarity and desirability in a walking Liberty half dollar almost makes a person lose the power of coherent thought! Pop 29; 83 finer.
Estimated Value $10,000 - 12,000.

Lot 2617
1923-S Liberty Walking Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64 PQ. Nice original toning. Bidders will find this a richly frosted example with an otherwise bold strike that wanes slightly in the centers. Heavily dappled russet and gray shadings cling to the surface on both obverse and reverse. The San Francisco Mint produced a fair number of coins this year, 2.1 million Half Dollars in 1923 to be exact. All the same, this issue was not well cared for with the result that offerings are scarce to rare in most Mint State grades. Pop 114; 52 finer. (PCGS # 6586) .
Estimated Value $3,500 - 4,000.
