1934, $500 Federal Reserve Note. . Fr-2201-I. CGA Choice Uncirculated 63. Another exciting example of the scarce high-denomination note that the collecting community has taken a liking for -- bright yellow-green overprint on the front which has a slightly different shade than the 1928-series $500s.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,500.

Lot 5277
1934-A, $500 Federal Reserve Note. . Fr-2202-K. CGA Gem Uncirculated 66. One of the highlights of any paper money collection is the ownership of a high-denomination note like the no-longer used $500. Still legal tender, the government ceased producing denominations above $100 after the late 1940s, and recalled as many as it could as they were turned in at the banks. This is a Gem. No doubt about it, the note looks as if it were hand-picked from an original pack of 100 $500 notes! Most desirable of all to the collector is its fresh appearance and perfect centering. And none of the usual handling or counting smudges often associated with these.
Estimated Value $3,500 - 4,000.
