1878 $10 Liberty. PCGS graded AU-58. Nice example with ample luster remaining. Indeed this is a very handsome coin, very sharply struck (full definition in each of the obverse stars) with reddish gold surfaces. No heavy abrasions, only tiny marks. Beautiful satiny-soft luster. Probably one of the nicest 58s in existence, and nicer looking than many of this type graded even MS62 (PCGS # 8680) .

This exceptionally pleasing Mint State example of this lower mintage date, a coin whose has pleasing reddish color spreads over each side with subtle accents of warm gold. The strike is strong, with clear definition to the high points. Only 91,868 minted at Philadelphia (PCGS # 8719) .
