Complete Set of National Audubon Society Sterling Plates by Franklin Mint. This set of four sterling silver plates was issued under the auspices of the National Audubon Society during 1973-74 at a cost of $150 per plate. They were offered to Society members and Franklin Mint subscribers in four etched designs based on Audubon's bird paintings. The designs and numbers issued are as follow: The Wood Thrush (5,273); The Bald Eagle (3,040); The Night Heron (3,005) and Audubon's Warbler (3,034). Each plate in this set is numbered 4608 on reverse (though eventual mintages were lower) presumeably to have a set all numbered alike. Each weighs aprox. 6 1/2 ounces; total weight aprox. 26 ounces of sterling silver. Essentially Mint State.

Important 18th Century British Silver Figural Plaque. A very large and impressive repoussé silver decorative plaque, gross weight 29½ oz., 15 1/2 inches in diameter in neo-Gothic style, depicting two armoured knights of antiquity holding spears and assisting an injured comrade between them. Behind and to the side of this trio, a scene of a castle wall and mountain, surrounded by a border of floral motifs. On the reverse a series of four hallmarks; "I.S", lion walking left, crowned lion head and the letter "h" for 1783, among these the marks of the very skilled artist John Scofield, English silversmith, active 1776 to 1796. This showpiece has been carefully tended for over two centuries, polished to preserve the surfaces and with only a few minor taps and tiny bends at the edges.

  A Fun Lot of Silver, Jewelry, and Knick-Knacks. England & U.S., 19th-20th centuries. Including 14 k gold cufflinks with horses ("studs"), souvenir silver spoons, and some sterling flatware from Tiffiany -- around 1900 or earlier for the silver. Numerous sterling teaspoons and occasional serving flatware from Gorham, E.A. Tyler & Co., and George C. Shreve & Co. Personal items like small boxes for pills, or something, in sterling; a gold and sterling money clip; gold or gold filled writing pieces; two intriguing "Gothic" thrones from England, one in sterling, the other in gold and seemingly a scent box. Political badges and Fair souvenirs, and other oddments round out things. Make it worth your while to inspect; you won't regret it. Probably 60 pieces, or more.
