1928, $10 Gold Certificate. . Fr-2400. . KL-1963. CGA Gem Uncirculated 66 Serial Number A48194168A. With the above note, would make for a consecutively numbered pair. A beautiful representative of the important (but now defunct) gold back currency. The Treasury seal and serial numbers are bright golden color, with the paper white, centering nice if a little low in the margins.

1928, $10 Gold Certificate. . Fr-2400. . KL-1963. PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ. The obligation of the government reads "The United States of America Ten Dollars in Gold Payable to the Bearer on Demand." The obligation was rescinded in April 1933, when these notes ceased issue and were ordered to be turned in to the banks. Because many staunch citizens thumbed their nose at the order, these handsome few remaining notes are available to collectors. (In 1974 the Gerald Ford administration relegalilzed the holding of gold coins and gold certificates after 40 years, removing their ownership from under a cloud of uncertainty.).
