Himmler, Heinrich (1900-1945) Leader of the SS and the Gestapo; he swallowed poison after being captured by the British on May 21, 1945. Typed Letter Signed "H. Himmler," 1p, 11¾"x8¼", n.p., 1938 Oct. 5. Fine; file holes and staple mark at left margin, light soiling. To SS-Gruppenführer Dr. Kaltanbrunner, regarding the state visit of Hungarian ambassador Horthy. Himmler says that he is aware of Kaltenbrunner's problems with Deneral Daluege, "Chef der Ordnungspolizei," and asks him to please settle his differences with Daluege. Kaltenbrunner was head of the RSHA after the assassination of Heydrich and had full responsibility for the deportation and extermination of Jews. He was captured at Nurenburg and hanged for crimes against humanity.

(Hiroshima) Ferebee, Tom. Color print of the Enola Gay Signed "Tom Ferebee - Bombardier, 6 Aug. 1945," with a summary of the bombing: "'We were victorious! We were Gallant! and we got the job done!' I dropped the bomb at precisely 08:15 Hrs. Eastern pacific time. The bomb detonated one minute later 08:16 Hrs. Japan surrendered 9 days later saving nearly 250,000 lives of our service men."
