The 1891 series with Martha Washington portrait has a modified, simpler back design than the one prepared for the 1886 series, but is just as scarce if not scarcer since only two signature combinations occur. F-223 has the names of Tillman and Morgan, with a small red scalloped seal and blue serial numbers. Spectacular quality as though just hand-selected from an original bank bundle of 100 notes! These notes are both the most historical and artistically detailed of all issues of our currency.
